just a couple of weeks ago, i was having a leisurely afternoon stroll along Queen west when i popped in to the drake general store. i almost dropped my cappuccino when i saw this stunning metallic pink pig ( it comes in gold too ). i LOVED it! wanted it instantly until i was told it was just shy of 300 dollars and while i LOVED it ( as i mentioned ) it was only a want and not a need so i walked away. of course, i could not stop thinking about it. debated going back and just buying it when i thought, ack! i can make my own little version of this little piggie. so, here you have it!
bought the cheap white piggie bank here. pretty sure it was about $2 at michaels.
scooped a bottle of amethyst glitter paint and loose fleck glitter by martha stewart. also at micheals. totaled about $6
grabbed my paintbrush, loaded it with the glitter paint and smoothed it over the white pig. i then sprinkled the hell out of the piggie with the glitter fleck and VOILA!
oh yes! and i sealed the piggie with a clear coat of lacquer spray.
she sits on my desk and makes me giggle a little every day in a cute and quirky kind of way. i also think her glitter makes her very glamorous. she is currently name-less. want to help me name her?? what do you think?

hello neon and washi tape! who doesn’t love this little neon throwback happening lately. it’s so cheerful, vibrant and the perfect little addition to a neutral base. this table setting is simple, cost effective but looks so flipping rad. i am thinking about my teen aged nieces and know they would love to host their friends with a fashionable party like this.
check out all the details on how to get this look here.

easter egg decoration is such a fun and inexpensive way to bring cheerful colour and decor to your home. i spotted these fabulous ideas on the style at home site and thought they were perfect to try just one or all of them. of course glitter is a personal favorite but i must say the tie-dye-esque eggs are getting my vote this season! be sure to get all the details on how to create these adorable eggies over here!

i do believe i would be doing my family and heritage a serious dis-service if i did not post a little, sweet something for st.patrick’s day. i stumbled upon these adorable little green guys and thought they were perfect. since the macaron world feels like it shot of like a rocket in the last couple of years and of course the laduree’s of the world lined up out the door, it’s obvious everyone loves macaron’s.
i am not convinced that these are the easiest to make and clearly take a lot of patience as you do need to make sure that macaron shells harden properly. if you are willing to go the extra mile for these tasty and ever so cute treats, you can find the recipe here.
your motivation may also be the part in the recipe that calls for baileys to make the ganache. sounds like a great excuse to pair these treats with a steamy cup of bailey’s and coffee!
bon appetit my friends or shall i say luck of the irish to you!

what girl doesn’t love sweets and fashion. the perfect pair right? precisely the reason why i loved this photo shoot from mulberry for their spring/summer collection. the pops of neon paired with neutrals like camel are fabulous. the styling and props of over sized candy and ice cream are just plain fun!

it really is the little things some times that make me smile. today is a holiday, likely for most of you too and who doesn’t love a long weekend? it’s one extra day that goes an awful long way on the happiness chart. a day to have yummy diner breakfasts with your best friend, swinging in the park under the beautiful bright sun and fresh baked cookies.
pink makes sloane and i particularly happy! we may just like sweet love letters in the mail and well polka dot everything!
have a great week everyone.

i would like to start sharing more of my design boards with you. sometimes they are boards i have created for clients, other times i find myself wanting to keep the creative juices flowing and draft them up for no one purpose but to archive and keep a portfolio of pieces i love.
this is what i have done here. i had little visions in my mind while awake in bed a couple of days ago and started seeking out some images online that i thought may bring my vision to life. this board is very indicative of my design style and is quite reflective of many elements in my own home.
as you all know, i am a lover of white. in this case the must have’s in this room were the gorgeous white slipcovered, sofa and chair. i then brought in texture and natural elements in the coffee table and basket accessory. the throw pillow has an earthy, Navajo feel to it and was the perfect little compliment to the stunning geometric area rug.
i went a little playful and mod with the brass & black table lamp and art work. there were lots of fun pops of color in the prints that brought life to the overall look.
of course, what room is complete without a gorgeous hermes blanket and oversized coffee table book!
